As a proud mother, small businesswoman, and 30-year Costa Mesa resident, I’m deeply committed to giving back to our community. My two sons graduated from Estancia High School and have since completed college, but my dedication to our schools has never wavered.
For years, and still today, I’ve been actively involved in supporting our students as a Board Member of the Estancia TeWinkle Schools Foundation and through various volunteer roles. But I can no longer stand by while our schools fail our children—I must do more.
I’m running for school board because I’ve witnessed firsthand the alarming decline in our students’ education, safety, and mental health. Our district is failing 41% of students can’t meet state standards in English/Language Arts, and 52% in Math.
At Estancia and TeWinkle, the numbers are even worse. But it’s not just about academics. Violence, drugs, weapons, suspensions, and absences are all on the rise and hitting record highs. Our children are less safe, and their mental health is deteriorating.
This is a wake-up call. Our current school board has been reactive, not proactive, and our kids are paying the price. We need immediate change to fix our broken system and protect our children’s future. I’m running to make that happen—because our kids can’t wait any longer.
